Capri Sun Label Size Guide: Exact Dimensions for the Standard Pouch
Quick answer: a Capri Sun label measures about 3.5 × 5 inches (8.9 × 12.7 cm) — some templates run up to 3.5 × 5.25 inches. It's a front-face label, not a wrap: the standard 6 oz pouch is roughly 5.1 inches tall by 3.5 inches wide, and the label covers the printed front while the foil pouch, seal and straw stay untouched.
Below: why the label doesn't wrap around, how to check the fit against the pouch you actually bought, which paper survives a Miami cooler full of ice, and when it makes more sense to order them finished instead of peeling fifty stickers the morning of the party.
The Capri Sun label, explained
Unlike a candy bar wrapper, a Capri Sun label doesn't go around anything — the pouch is a gusseted foil bag that widens at the bottom when it's full, so a wrap-around label would crease and peel. What works, and what the whole printable-label industry standardized on, is a flat label for the front face:
- Label: about 3.5 × 5 in (8.9 × 12.7 cm). Tall-rectangle orientation. This covers the pouch's original artwork completely; some templates stretch to 5.25 in tall for extra coverage toward the bottom gusset.
- The pouch: about 3.5 in wide × 5.1 in tall (9 × 13 cm), 6 oz. That's the standard single-serve Capri Sun sold in US multi-packs — measurements match our own production specs for the pouches we label every week.
- What stays untouched: everything that matters. The foil pouch, the factory seal, the straw and the straw hole are never modified. The label sits on top of the front face only.
Fit check for DIY: lay your printed label over an actual pouch before cutting the whole batch. If it overhangs the edges, trim to 3.4 in wide; if the bottom lifts where the gusset starts, shorten to 5 in. Two minutes with one pouch saves a wasted sheet of sticker paper.
DIY labels that survive the cooler
Capri Suns live on ice at a party — and melting ice is where most DIY labels die. If you're printing your own:
- Use waterproof vinyl sticker paper. Glossy adhesive vinyl handles condensation; plain paper labels wrinkle, fade and peel within minutes of leaving the cooler.
- Print at 100% scale. "Fit to page" silently shrinks the label 5–10% and leaves the original Capri Sun artwork peeking out around the edges.
- Cut with a blade and ruler, or buy pre-cut sheets. A 3.5 × 5 label has four long visible edges — wavy scissor lines show in every photo.
- Apply to a DRY, room-temperature pouch. Sticking vinyl to a cold, sweating pouch traps moisture under the label. Label first, chill after.
- Smooth from the center out. The pouch face isn't perfectly flat; press the label from the middle toward the edges to chase out air bubbles.
DIY vs. ordering them finished
The math for a party of 20 kids: a box of Capri Suns, a pack of waterproof vinyl sheets, printer ink, cutting, and applying 20 labels one by one to pouches that don't want to lie flat. Parents tell us the labeling alone takes a couple of hours — and the first few always come out with bubbles.
Our custom Capri Sun labels are $2.50 per pouch with a 10-unit minimum, finished: the real Capri Sun pouch, a label designed from scratch for your theme (your kid's name, age, characters and colors), waterproof printing, hand-applied smooth, and delivered party-ready. You approve a free digital proof in 24–48 hours before we print anything.
Because the pouch stays factory-sealed, they're accepted at schools and daycares that require sealed brand-name drinks — same rule as our custom Kit Kat wrappers and the rest of the birthday favor table.

Capri Sun label questions, answered
What size is a Capri Sun label?
The standard label size for a Capri Sun pouch is about 3.5 × 5 inches (roughly 8.9 × 12.7 cm) — some templates run 3.5 × 5.25 inches. That covers the front face of the standard 6 oz pouch, which measures about 5.1 inches tall by 3.5 inches wide.
Does the label cover the whole pouch or just the front?
Just the front. Capri Sun pouches have a gusseted foil shape that does not wrap cleanly, so the standard approach — ours included — is a full-front label that covers the original artwork while the sealed pouch, straw and straw hole stay exactly as the factory made them.
What paper works best for DIY Capri Sun labels?
Glossy adhesive-backed sticker paper, ideally waterproof vinyl. Juice pouches come out of the cooler wet with condensation — plain paper labels wrinkle and peel within minutes. Print at 100% scale, never "fit to page".
Do custom labels affect the juice inside?
No. The label is applied over the factory-sealed pouch — the juice, the seal and the straw are untouched. That factory seal is also why custom-labeled Capri Suns are accepted at schools and daycares that require sealed, brand-name drinks.
How much do custom Capri Sun labels cost?
